A JD graduate of St. John’s University School of Law, Gordon Burrows is a family law attorney practicing out of his own firm in White Plains, New York. Additionally, Gordon Burrows functions as a Westchester County Legislator for the 15th District, a position he has held since 2005.

In late 2018, the website of the Westchester County Board of Legislators published a press release announcing that the county will continue its annual support of the summer youth basketball program in Mount Vernon for 2019. The weekday camp lasts four hours in the afternoon and instructs boys in basketball drills and skill development. In addition, the camp features weekly speakers who address important topics related to decision-making, leadership, and team work.
Studies have shown that youth programs like basketball camps can encourage young men and women to embrace healthier, more active lifestyles into adulthood. In addition, youth sports programs have been shown to have a positive effect on personal qualities like self-esteem and the ability to maintain positive social relationships, and may even lead to improved academic performance.
